West 42nd Street Loft
The initial scope for this loft renovation was to update the Kitchen and bathroom. The project developed into an entire apartment renovation with installation of new entry and bedroom closets and new stained ipe wood floors. The clients are collectors of mid-century modern furniture, so closets were designed and built with stainless steel frames and fiberglas panels to respond to this aesthetic. The material finishes in the kitchen and bath were kept on the light side to give the loft an open and airy feel. Also to reinforce this lightness, the Kitchen island was designed as a table, open below, a work surface were one can also pull up bar stools.
